Concept of The Wabi

There is a Japanese aesthetic known as “Wabi–Sabi.”

It stands in contrast to the European tradition of adding ornamentation and decorative richness.

Instead of building beauty through accumulation, Wabi–Sabi reveals depth through what is left unsaid.

Within imperfection, within absence, within a single moment of openness, it invites an entire universe to emerge.

Focusing especially on the idea of “Wabi,”

I hope to convey the essence of Japan’s culinary heritage and cultural depth—

not as nostalgia, but in a form that resonates with modern life.

My intention is to hand down these values to future generations in the most authentic way possible.

Cultural background

“Wabi” expresses a sense of richness born from restraint—

an appreciation for space, subtlety, and what remains unadorned.

“Sabi” speaks to the beauty that appears over time—

the patina, the change, the quiet dignity of ageing.

Among these two, it is “Wabi” that I feel deeply represents the uniqueness of Japanese culture.

“Less” does not imply lack.

It is an openness where imagination can move freely.

By removing excess and avoiding unnecessary decoration,

we allow room for ease, clarity, and inner balance.

To cultivate moments of spaciousness in everyday life,

to regain the ability to meet ourselves with honesty,

I hope to reinterpret and evolve the idea of WABI

so that it speaks meaningfully to the world we live in today.

Concepto de The Wabi

«Menos» no significa carencia.
